OUTREACH PROGRAMS & SERVICES

How We Help

About 20 years ago, some Whistler locals had a simple idea: they opened a thrift store and sold donated goods to fund social services in the community. The idea was brought to life by Whistlerite Greg McDonnell who became the non-profit’s first outreach worker. WCSS has evolved and supports a range of people – wherever they’re at. New moms figuring out parenthood. An injured labourer facing a loss of income. Families struggling to make ends meet. Individuals faced with food insecurity. Seasonal workers trying to make friends. Seniors feeling isolated. Bargain hunters looking for low-cost goods. Anyone in the community can count on WCSS. Our caring, supportive outreach team will guide them to get the support they need.

Mental & Emotional Health

When someone has the courage to open up about their mental health, it is critical that they feel seen and heard.  WCSS Outreach professionals are here to listen and offer support.
