Food Bank

Whistler’s Food Bank provides an essential service for a range of people based in the Sea to Sky corridor.

Who is it for?

When unexpected situations arise, like an accident, loss of shelter, or illness, these events are expensive to bounce back from financially. We’re here to help until people are back on track!

Supplemental groceries are available to ensure individuals don’t have to lower the quality or quantity of food they are eating. There are many different reasons to access the food bank: high cost of living, low income, injury, illness, and/or precarious work conditions, and many more.

Date & TIMES

Drop-In: Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays 1:30pm – 5:30 pm

Closed: Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Statutory Holidays.

Location: 8000 Nesters Road, Whistler, BC V0N 1B8

What We Offer

  • The Whistler Food Bank is stocked with food that we purchase and food that we recover from local restaurants, grocers, and businesses around town. The quality of this food may not look like it does in a store but everything we offer is hand checked by staff and volunteers and is still edible!
  • We suggest that people visit the food bank once every week or two weeks to supplement their other food resources
  • We offer enough groceries to supplement 2-3 days’ worth of meals over the span of a two-week period
  • Please collect only for yourself and your immediate family or partner
  • The Whistler food bank offers a shopping model with limits per item during drop-in hours of service
  • Our selection of groceries may vary weekly depending on donations but always includes staples such as fresh fruit, vegetables, grains, canned beans, canned fish, pasta, pasta sauce, cereal/oatmeal, and flour
  • We also provide Health Assistance: Baby Formula, Diapers, menstrual care products, and harm-reduction kits. Ask a staff member for more info!
  • We provide more than food! We can provide food skills training and/or help with making a long-term plan to become self-sufficient through WCSS Outreach Services (ie: help with taxes, EI applications, financial subsidies, and mental health resources)
