As an Extreme Weather Response Shelter Support Worker, you will support in the operations of the Extreme Weather Shelter in Whistler which provides community members with safe temporary housing at no cost for those at risk of homelessness in cases of adverse weather such as seasonally unusual temperature, wind chill, snow fall, rainfall, wind, air quality advisories. You will use your own emotional intelligence to connect with and provide confidential support to individuals from diverse backgrounds accessing the shelter. You will closely collaborate with the WCSS Outreach Team and others with various tasks including intake and greeting community members upon arriving to the shelter, operation tasks and supervision of all guests. You will be flexible to be scheduled for evening and overnight shifts as outlined above with short notice.

As a WCSS Truck Driver, you will play a pivotal role in our organization by driving our company vehicle for various departments. Your focus will primarily involve food recovery eff orts and supporting the Re-Build It Centre donation pickups, as well as waste diversion initiatives.
Whistler Community Services Society is recruiting for a full time Outreach Worker. As an Outreach Worker at WCSS, you will connect with and provide no cost confidential support to individuals of all ages and families from diverse backgrounds including those that may be experiencing mental/physical health challenges, financial insecurity, substance use, relationship challenges, housing insecurity, parenting or prenatal support among many others. You will engage with community members, local service providers and businesses to provide community outreach and promote WCSS services to create awareness and comfortability in accessing our services. You will be adaptable and flexible to the needs of the community and prioritize programming that meets community needs. Other assets include: knowledge of local resources, possessing social and cultural awareness and sensitivity, team player, strong initiative, ability to communicate in multiple languages, flexible and adaptable and knowledge and alignment of harm reduction practices.

As a Senior Program Facilitator, you will facilitate the WCSS Activate and Connect program which provides events and spaces to gather and make connections for Whistler residents who are 55+ plus. Includes free drop-in creative and physical activities, opportunities to listen to guest speakers on topics related to health, nutrition, finance, law, etc as well as free monthly social, cultural, and physical activities. You will organize events and programs for seniors, create and distribute a monthly newsletter including relevant event and community information, and provide facilitation and lead programming as needed. You will engage with community members and act as a liaison with other partner organizations and groups supporting seniors in the community to create awareness and comfortability in accessing our services. You will be adaptable and flexible to the needs of the community and prioritize programming that meets community needs. A Vulnerable Sector Check completed upon initial hiring, BC Drivers license an asset and ability to get to diverse working locations in the community is mandatory.
Whistler Community Services Society (WCSS) invites qualified vendors to submit proposals for the design, supply, installation, and ongoing support of an upgraded video surveillance system across two locations: Nesters Road and the Re-Build-It Centre on Lynham Road.
This project will replace aging infrastructure with a modern, scalable solution that enhances security, improves reliability, and supports future expansion.
