Extreme Weather Response Shelter Support Worker

Wage: $26.50 for evening shift, $27.50 for overnight shift

As an Extreme Weather Response Shelter Support Worker, you will support the operations of the overnight Extreme Weather Response Shelter in Whistler which provides community members with safe temporary housing at no cost in cases of adverse weather which includes a combination of seasonally unusual cold temperatures, wind chill, snow fall, rainfall, wind, air quality advisories. This position is weather dependent and you will be given approx 72 notice for shifts ranging from 5:30pm-11pm or 11pm-9am. Commitment will vary depending on how many nights open from October 15th, 2025 to April 15th, 2026. Re-Build-It Centre Team Member

(Part Time Permanent)

The Re-Build-It Centre (RBI) Team Members role is to receive, process and sell donations. This role also includes facilitating the Tool Lending Library, and handling cash transactions. The RBI Team Member engages with our customers, has a passion for waste diversion, and is an advocate for a positive and safe environment for everyone. The ideal candidate must have availability on weekends.

Mechanical & Electrical Engineering Services

Cooling System Addition – Retail & Receiving Areas

WCSS is inviting qualified Mechanical and Electrical Engineering consultants to submit proposals for professional services related to the design and implementation of additional cooling systems for the retail and receiving areas of an existing facility.

The selected consultant will provide services through design development, tendering, construction administration, and post-construction phases.

WCSS reserves the right to accept or reject any proposal and is not obligated to award a contract as a result of this RFP.

Re-Use-It Centre Ambassador

(Full Time Permanent)

The Re-Use-It Centre Ambassador role is to receive, distribute, stock, and sell donations. Applicants will operate the cash register and must be able to lift 50lbs in a fast paced, physical role (standing, lifting, loud work spaces).
 
Successful candidates should anticipate supporting community members with diverse needs in a compassionate and empathetic way in this front-line, customer service role. The RUI Ambassador must be aware that they are the face of the organization and must have a passion for waste diversion.

Outreach and Administration Worker

As an Outreach Worker at WCSS, you will connect with and provide no-cost, confidential, non-judgemental support to individuals of all ages and families from diverse backgrounds. You will engage with community members, local service providers and businesses to provide in community outreach and promote WCSS services. As an administrator you will play a critical role in supporting WCSS daily operations, greeting and supporting clients and our busy team. This role is best suited to individuals who are organized, collaborative, and enjoy working a public facing role with a diverse clientele.
