Extreme Weather Shelter

The Extreme Weather Shelter is WEATHER DEPENDANT! 

WCSS uses data from Environment Canada to determine open hours, check the weather at https://weather.gc.ca
 

Who is it for?

All those living in precarious housing situations (vehicle, tent, outdoors, unheated dwelling, unsafe shared living space, etc.) are welcome! No personal identification required.

Date & TIMES

Shelter will be open from 6pm – 8am NIGHTLY if the following conditions are met:

  • Temperatures are -10 degrees Celsius or below, OR
  • Temperatures are 0 degrees Celsius WITH an adverse weather alert

What is provided

  • Sleeping cots, sleeping bags and pillows provided in a shared sleeping area in the WCSS 3rd floor boardroom as well
  • Warm food and beverages in the evening and morning
  • Support Workers on site at all times
  • Free parking
