Income Tax Program

Who is it for?

Low-income earning residents in Whistler looking for support filing their simple tax return.

What qualifies as a simple tax return?

Eligible:

Not Eligible:

Maximum Income thresholds:

Single person – up to $40,000
Couple – up to $60,000 (combined)

Plus $5,000 for each additional dependant
e.g. couple with 2 kids maximum = $70,000

Client who qualify for help with their simple tax return must:

  • Visit in person
  • Bring in ID and all tax tax slips including T4’s, T3’s, T5007 and medical expenses

Date & TIMES

Tax clinics happen in March and April of each year. These clinics are popular and fill up fast, follow us on social media for updates or check back here in the spring!

Clients must register for these clinics, a half hour is allotted per client. If you are filing as a couple both parties need to be present and book two consecutive slots.

What You Will Receive

The Community Volunteer Income Tax Program connects low income residents of Whistler with a volunteer to assist with filing simple income tax returns.  

  • Work with a volunteer or Outreach worker to prepare tax statements
  • Determine eligibility for federal and provincial tax credits
  • Get tax returns filed electronically
