As a Food Security Support Worker at WCSS, you will work with the other Food Security Support Workers, Food Security Volunteer and Program Coordinator and Food Security Manager to offer various food security programs such as Food Recovery, Food Bank, Breakfast Club in school programming, Food Skills and Nutrition among others. You will be part of the WCSS team, the social services team, and uphold the WCSS values of inclusion, advocacy, trust, respect and collaboration. You will drive the company vehicle for food recovery pick-ups throughout the community and have a passion for waste diversion and minimizing food waste.

Whistler Community Services Society is recruiting 2 Full-Time Outreach Workers with staff accommodation available. One position will be focused on creating meaningful connections with our local Seniors population therefore experience in this is considered an asset.

The Re-Use It Centre is a vital part of the WCSS and the greater community by largely supporting all social services through circular economy and waste diversion program. The Re-Use It Centre Ambassador role is includes receiving, sorting, and selling of donations to generate funds to support WCSS community programs, facilitate circular economy, and divert waste from landfill. The Re-Use It Centre Ambassador must be aware that they are a representative of WCSS and our organizations values. This individual ought to share an enthusiasm for supporting our community and have a passion for waste diversion.
The Re-Build-It Centre (RBI) Team Member’s role is to receive, process, and sell donations. This role also includes facilitating the Tool Lending Library, and handling cash transactions. The RBI Team Member engages with our customers, has a passion for waste diversion, and is an advocate for a positive and safe environment for everyone.
The Re-Build-It Centre (RBI) Truck Driver role is a pivotal role in our organization by driving our company vehicles that support the RBI. The focus will be to coordinate furniture pickups/deliveries, manage waste diversion efforts, maintain our recycling program, and to participate in community events.
As the Farmer’s Market Food Recovery Worker at WCSS, you will assist with recovering food at the Whistler Farmers Market on Sundays, issuing receipts to vendors, sorting and storing produce to be distributed at the Food Bank.
