The Resort Municipality of Whistler, Whistler Fire Rescue Service, Fresh Street Market, Whistler Community Services Society (WCSS), and Sea to Sky RCMP Whistler are hosting their annual holiday toy and food drive on Thursday, December 15, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. The event will be in front of Fresh Street Market at 4330 Northlands Blvd., for donations from community to support people in need.
For those who wish to give non-perishable food, WCSS recommends:
- Soups, pasta, and broth for those who have a means of cooking;
- Ramen bowls or other foods that require only hot water or access to hot water; and
- Granola bars or other healthy snacks for those who do not have a means of cooking.
Toys for boys and girls are also appreciated, as are gift cards for teenagers. Teens value cards from places such as London Drugs, Best Buy, Walmart, and Armchair Books.
“While WCSS is grateful for any donation, cash is always good because it gives them flexibility and buying power”,
says Corporal Angela Kermer of Sea to Sky RCMP. “Any level of generosity from one can help contribute to making another’s heart happier over the holidays”.
