The WCSS Extreme Heat Warning Centre is open from Monday July 25th until Friday July 29th, 2022.
The Whistler Community Services Society Board Room at 8000 Nesters Road will be activated as a cooling space and all are welcome:
- Monday July 25th from 12pm-5pm
- Tuesday July 26th from 9am-12pm
- Wednesday July 27th from 12pm-5pm
- Thursday July 28th from 12pm-5pm
- Friday July 29th from 12pm-5pm
Hydration, snacks and support will be offered to anyone who would like to access the space. Water bottles, at no cost, will also be provided outside of the 8000 Nesters Road Location and available to the public.
WCSS Outreach Team will also be in the community providing water bottles and cooling supplies on Wednesday and Thursday a hydration station outside of the Whistler Public Library from 12pm-5pm and will also be providing extreme heat safety education material provided by the local health authorities.
Outreach Services will be visiting underground parking garages, parking lots and connecting with vulnerable individuals living in vehicles or outside who may be at risk of heat related illness or require medical attention and connecting them to services.
