Whistler Community Services Society (WCSS) recently won a 2026 Defender Service Award, earning a custom-built Land Rover Defender 130 and $30,000 USD from ei3 after more than 250,000 public votes were cast across the competition. This award recognizes organizations providing vital community services, and WCSS was selected as the winner of the Community Services category. Other categories include search and rescue, animal welfare, outdoor accessibility, and veterans’ outreach.

The new Defender will be a significant addition to WCSS’s outreach capacity, helping the organization transport supplies, equipment, food, and staff and reach people throughout Whistler and surrounding regional areas.

WCSS would like to thank Jaguar Land Rover, the Defender Service Awards, presenting sponsor Chase, and category sponsor ei3 for their incredible support and belief in the work of all the incredible finalists.

We also want to congratulate our fellow category finalist, First Baptist Gatlinburg Food Pantry, for making the top two with us, and Pemberton SAR for their second-place win in the search and rescue category.
