Every year WCSS is graced with the time and support of so many volunteers. They come in all shapes and sizes, of all ages, and from all walks of life – but one thing they have in common is compassion. Compassion, it has been said, is the coming together of empathy and action – it is the of putting words, thoughts, and emotions to work for the benefit of others.

Volunteers at WCSS fill many roles in our food security and outreach programs as well as our social enterprises. Regardless if they are making sandwiches for the breakfast club program, packing bags or stocking shelves for the food bank, learning about mental health supports through our Peer Educator program, driving food to community fridges in all Whistler Schools, or sorting goods at our stores – our volunteers arrive with smiles on their faces and ready to work. We are so very honoured to be chosen as the organization each of them donates their time to – time is a precious and valuable commodity and we are grateful for each minute we have the opportunity to spend with our volunteers.

From the bottom of our collective WCSS heart – THANK YOU!
