Ways to Give

We are happy to collaborate and get support toward building food security in our community. Here are a few ways to contribute.

Our Food Bank has a better purchasing power so donating funds allows us to stretch your dollars and feed more people. Cash donations allow us to purchase whatever is most needed, whenever it is most needed. Donations over $25 are eligible for a tax receipt.
Monetary donations are preferred as food donations require our limited staff to sort, organize, and repack into emergency hampers.

Donate Food

WCSS Food Bank Donation Bins are located by the cash register at Forecast, Creekside Market, Fresh Street Market, Nester’s Market, and Your Independent Grocer Whistler.
Most needed items include: pasta/rice/grains, canned vegetables and fruit, canned tomatoes, canned fish, peanut butter, tuna and canned soup.
The Food Bank also accepts large food and fresh food donations (from wholesalers, retailers, events). Please contact foodbank@mywcss.org to coordinate these types of donations.

Want to volunteer with us? WCSS runs a number of food related programs that require volunteers, sign up here to see if we have any openings!

Food Drive

Organize a Food Drive with your friends, family or colleagues.
Contact: foodbank@mywcss.org and review our Third-party Fundraiser Agreement for details. You’ll then receive our toolkit on how to organize a successful food drive.

Donate recyclables

If you’re not in a position to give cash: bottles, cans and other refundable beverage containers can be donated at WCSS bins in Function Junction and Nesters
