Who is it for?

Lower-income families, pregnant women and seniors (50+) participating in WCSS food literacy programs.

Date & TIMES

The program runs at the same time as the Farmer’s Markets. June until November each year.

What We Offer

  • Each household enrolled in the program is eligible to receive a minimum of $27/week in Farmer’s Market Coupons. The program runs throughout the summer months when produce is most abundant across the province. Coupons can be used to purchase vegetables, fruits, nuts, eggs, dairy, cut herbs, meat, and fish.
  • Participants will take part in a series of workshops that focus on preparing, preserving, purchasing, growing, and storing food. Workshops will vary by year and childcare will be provided for families during workshops”
  • Make friends and attend workshops with other participants while preparing meals and learning about eating a well-balanced diet.

Program supporters

The coupon program is supported by the Province of British Columbia and the Provincial Health Services Authority.

It is administered by the Farmer’s Market Association of BC and locally run by Whistler Community Services Society and the Whistler Farmer’s Market.
