As demand for its services remains at record highs, the Whistler Community Services Society (WCSS) is hoping community support can help secure a new outreach vehicle through a North America-wide competition.
WCSS was recently named one of five finalists in the Community Services category of the 2026 Defender Service Awards, presented by Chase, putting the organization in the running to receive a customized Defender 130 vehicle to support its work.
Executive director Jackie Dickinson said the recognition is significant not just for WCSS, but for the community it serves.
“Being selected as one of five finalists across North America is an incredible honour,” she said. “It speaks to the impact of the work happening here in Whistler and recognizes it on a national and international stage.”
Dickinson said the recognition reflects the work of WCSS staff and volunteers while highlighting the important role non-profits play in supporting community health and well-being.
