If you’re in Whistler, make time to visit the Peaks and Valleys exhibit at the Maury Young Arts Centre before June 28, 2025. This unique and deeply moving show brings together nearly 30 artists from the Sea to Sky region, each sharing their personal and community experiences with mental health through their artwork.

Presented by Arts Whistler and Whistler Community Services Society, the exhibit goes beyond beautiful visuals, and opens up important conversations around isolation, housing insecurity, and the often-hidden emotional struggles people face in our mountain town. Featured pieces tackle themes like injury, the need for belonging, and what it means to live in a place that’s both stunning and challenging.

What’s especially thoughtful about Peaks and Valleys is how it also acts as a space for support. There’s a mental health resource wall with take-home materials, and content warnings are in place to ensure everyone can engage at their own pace.

It’s a powerful reminder that while Whistler is known for its peaks, there are valleys too—and this exhibit helps shine a light on both.
