Our Re-Build-It Centre team is hard at work with many initiatives including store sales and donations, managing the tool lending library and maker space, but did you know they also manage a refundable recycling program too? This program has been in place for a number of years and is available to local business, strata, restaurants, and hotels. We currently serve 26 locations around Whistler. This program generates over $200,000 in revenue to support community programs through Whistler Community Services Society. Talk about social enterprise! Pick up is FREE for these locations, and we cater pick up schedules to the needs of each location.
We collect refundable containers which is pretty much anything that you purchase and drink from including beer bottles and cans, wine bottles, soda and water bottles, and even milk containers.
Not a business in town but want to be part of this awesome work? Individuals can donate their refundable containers, and can do so at both Function Junction and Nesters garbage depots in the designated bags. We encourage all households to participate in this if you can!
