What is Harm Reduction?

Harm reduction aims to keep people safe and minimize death, disease, and injury from high risk behaviour. The evidence shows it works and has many benefits for people who use substances, their families, and our communities.

Harm reduction involves a range of support services and strategies to empower and support people to be safer and healthier.

Currently WCSS can provide the following:

Substance Use

  • Safer smoking and safer injection kits and equipment
  • -Information around safer substance use, overdose prevention, and common infections associated with substance use
