A Trauma-Sensitive Restorative Yoga Practice facilitated by a Certified Yoga Teacher who is also an Outreach Worker at Whistler Community Services Society
This program will help improve the well-being of those who want to reduce stress, and learn relaxation techniques. This will be done through exploring how stress, anxiety and our overall mental health can affect our body and physiology. The program will provide tools and explore yoga practices of meditation, breath techniques, and a series of poses which will help the body; move beyond old limitations, connect with the mind and help it deal with anxious thoughts, provide tools to anchor oneself in the present moment; and how these principals combined can lead to a calmer, stronger way of being.
There is no fee for the class but PRE-registration is required along with a commitment to attend all weeks. Space is limited and priority is given to financially restricted participants and/or people who are dealing with trauma, addiction or mental illness.
